Why it’s on the route
Metal Hands opened on Wudaoying Hutong in 2016 and roasts its coffee in-house, selling beans by the bag. The original shop pairs a house blend and several single-origins on V60 and cold brew with espresso pulled on a lever machine. It is a simple hutong storefront with seating along one side and a small back annex, and the brand has since added branches in Beijing and Shanghai.
