Why it’s on the route
Sierra has been roasting in Bishkek since 2012, importing green coffee from Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala and Ethiopia and roasting it locally for freshness. It was founded by a New Zealander and his Uzbek wife and has since added cafés in Karakol and Osh. The original Manas Avenue café is a long-standing meeting and laptop spot serving espresso drinks, pastries and light lunches.
