Why it’s on the route
Artisan Roast opened in 2007 and is described as the first specialty roaster in Scotland. It runs a roastery and cupping lab and roasts both light and darker coffees. The Broughton Street café is its best-known, with an in-joke sign about J.K. Rowling, and it has occasionally offered Cup of Excellence lots and a whisky-cask-rested coffee.
