Why it’s on the route
Backstory has roasted coffee in St. Paul since 2014, first under the name Bootstrap Coffee Roasters, and in 2019 moved to this West Side roastery, where it added a coffee bar. The coffee is built around three house roast profiles, the light Wayfinder, balanced Narrator and creamy Legend, and the company has since opened spots in Minneapolis's North Loop and Bloomington.
