Why it’s on the route
Coffee Pirates opened in 2012 as Vienna's first organic-certified third-wave roaster, with beans bought mostly directly from farmers and roasted in the north of the city. The Spitalgasse café offers a filter of the day brewed by Chemex, AeroPress or drip decanter, and a sister bar next door serves filter only. It is a long-standing neighbourhood spot near the university hospital quarter.
