Why it’s on the route

Prototype Coffee was founded by Matt Johnson and roasts on four small Aillio Bullet roasters behind the bar. A brew bar offers up to around twenty coffees as single-cup pour-overs, alongside espresso and steamed cold-brew drinks. The East Hastings space is a dark, moss-walled room reached through a hidden entrance, with waffle donuts as the pastry.
