Why it’s on the route

Ernst was founded in 2014 by Maren Ernst and is described as Cologne's specialty coffee pioneer, roasting its own lots including its first Geisha, a carbonic maceration from Los Pirineos. The original Bonner Straße shop was long the roastery, and a second café in Sülz opened in 2022 with stone features, warm colours and a large terrace. It hosts free public cuppings.
