Why it’s on the route
Schamong is Cologne's oldest roastery, founded in 1949 and operating from the same Ehrenfeld building ever since. The interior is old-fashioned, with a wall of vintage metal and glass coffee containers, but it runs a La Marzocco and offers filter including V60. Its roasting style is darker, in keeping with tradition.
