Why it’s on the route

Locahouz is in Kampung Bukit China, on the quieter edge of Melaka's Jonker Street area, behind a doorway signed in salvaged wood. Inside are red sheer curtains, a black spiral staircase, plants, Chinese lanterns and vintage curios, plus a leafy open-air courtyard. The menu leans Nyonya, with pumpkin mantou buns and pork belly dishes, served with lattes, Melaka kopi ais and flower-decorated coffees.
