Manuka Brothers roasts arabica in batches on a wood-fired roaster called Black Betty, heated by glowing manuka embers rather than gas. The roastery café is on Norton Road in Frankton, and the coffee is also served at several Waikato eateries. The roasters say the wood gives a sweet, complex flavour.
