Why it’s on the route

Seed is run by Mahesh Alkegama, who returned to Sri Lanka after a decade in London, from an old colonial house on Horton Place. It serves Sri Lankan coffees alongside single origins from elsewhere, and the renovated space was planned with a bigger bar, a kitchen, a micro-bakery and a roaster. It is one of Colombo's most reviewed cafés.
