Why it’s on the route

Black Cup began life in 1975 as Café Del Mundo, billed as Alaska's first specialty coffee roaster, and was renamed during a 2015 remodel designed by owner Brad Bigelow, an architect by training. It roasts lighter to bring out origin character, and the bar added a brew bar for manual methods. The room draws on early-20th-century glamour, with chandeliers, Parisian-style tiles and communal tables.
