Why it’s on the route
Red Rooster Coffee is run by co-founder Haden Polseno-Hensley and Rose McCutchan, an organic-certified roaster in the small Blue Ridge town of Floyd. In 2018 it moved into a renovated former furniture store with exposed steel and oak beams, roasting on a Diedrich IR-25 and serving manual brews and Slayer espresso, with seating on both floors and a cupping lab upstairs.
