Why it’s on the route

Steam was opened in 2013 by Hani and Zahi Yaafouri, and its Platt Park shop on South Pearl Street is a sunny room with walk-up windows onto the patio. Beans come from Denver's Huckleberry Roasters and Boxcar Coffee Roasters, and the menu stays deliberately simple, with no syrups or seasonal specials. The house mocha is made by melting dark chocolate into the espresso.
