Why it’s on the route
Story Coffee was opened in 2015 by Don and Carissa Niemyer, who built it after a two-year coffee crawl through more than 200 cafés in 45 states while living in a camper van. Don built the 160-square-foot cabin-style shop himself on the edge of Acacia Park; it has a walk-up window and two high-top tables. The company has roasted its own coffee since 2016.
