Why it’s on the route
The Breaks was founded in 2015 by Corey Gerlach and Mary Campbell as a direct-to-consumer roaster and opened its first café in 2020 in downtown Sioux Falls. Its original 6-kilo Mill City roaster still works inside the roughly 1,000-square-foot café, while a larger production roastery opened nearby in 2025.
