Why it’s on the route
The Left Hook is Kristin Kulik's coffee company, which started as a bar inside Gussie's on West Morgan Street and was ranked first in Axios's 2025 list of Triangle coffee shops. Kulik roasts her own coffee and in 2026 opened a standalone shop in the former Hargett Street Laundromat, styled after a 1960s–70s diner counter, serving house seltzers and egg creams alongside espresso.
