Why it’s on the route
Valentine began as a wholesale roaster in 2009, run by Robb Kashevarof and Joe Gilsdorf, and opened this Vliet Street café, its oldest, in 2013. Roasting moved in 2024 from behind the café to a 17,000-square-foot former foundry in Wauwatosa with a 70-kilo roaster. The compact brick-fronted café has indoor and outdoor seating and serves classics alongside drinks like espresso tonic.
