Why it’s on the route
Academia do Café was started in 2011 as a training centre by Bruno Souza and Debora Fortini, adding a café in 2013, and sources from the family's fifth-generation farm, Fazenda Esperança. Guests choose a coffee by variety, process and tasting notes and baristas build a recipe for it; guided tastings and brewing sessions run in an experience room. The 2026 headquarters in Funcionários seats about 80 across a hall, veranda and garden, with part of the roasting open to view.
