Special concept: worth seeing for what it is
Santos · Centro Histórico, Brazil
Why it’s on the route
Rei do Café was founded in 1912 by Portuguese immigrants and, now run by the third generation of the Alves family, is described as the oldest roastery still working in Santos, with wood-fired roasting visible at its Centro Histórico shop. It runs the official café inside the 1922 Bolsa Oficial de Café, home of the Museu do Café, where it serves its own blend alongside seasonal origins and micro-origins. The café sits on the ground floor of the old coffee exchange building.
