19grams grew out of the Boxhagener Straße espresso bar that opened in 2002 and now runs cafés in Mitte, Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. Its roasting machine is at the Alexanderplatz site, which one guide calls the most spacious of the group, and the same coffee supplies the other cafés. The roastery was named Roaster of the Year 2022 by Crema magazine.
