Why it’s on the route

The Barn was founded in 2010 by Ralf Rüller and is one of Berlin's best-known specialty roasters, roasting single origins at a roastery on Schönhauser Allee. Its early strictness, such as no milk or sugar with hand-brewed coffee, drew both criticism and loyal followers. The original Auguststraße café has modular furniture and a quiet, laptop-free room, and the group now runs around ten sites in the city.
