Why it’s on the route
Samba is a roaster founded in Athens in 1979 and now led by Kostas Kalafatas; its coffee is roasted at its own plant in Ano Liosia, which also houses a sensory lab. The Kolonaki shop pours single-origin filter and pour-over alongside espresso and freddo drinks. It is a small, orderly space with a rattan-lined mezzanine and a street hatch with wooden stools.
