Why it’s on the route

This Makassar café is tied to Toarco Toraja, the coffee project Japan's Key Coffee began in the Toraja highlands in the 1970s, with its own plantation and purchases from local smallholders. Guests choose beans by village of origin, such as Pedamaran or Sapan-Minanga, and have them ground and brewed to order by hand drip or siphon. Lightly roasted beans are also sold to take home.
