Why it’s on the route

VCR is one of Kuala Lumpur's longer-running specialty cafés, run by Andrew Lee and partner Lee Ee Han from a remodelled old building on Jalan Galloway near Bukit Bintang. It roasts at its own roastery in Bangsar, with seasonal single origins that lean towards fruit-forward African and bright Latin American coffees, plus blends for milk drinks and cold brew. Upstairs, rattan chairs and the building's old-world feel suit a slow morning.
