Why it’s on the route

Avoca was launched on Magnolia Avenue in 2011 by Jimmy Story and Garold LaRue and was one of the first Fort Worth coffeehouses to run its own roastery; principal Craig Morgan has owned it since 2019. The company built its approach around teaching guests about sourcing, roasting and brewing, with single-origin pour-overs on the bar. The original Magnolia shop helped anchor the street's growth, and there is also a location in the Stockyards.
