Why it’s on the route

Café Grumpy opened its first shop in Greenpoint in 2005, and this Meserole Avenue café is the original, with the company's roastery in the same neighborhood. It has since grown to nine cafés across New York, serving its own roasts as espresso drinks and pour-overs; the cappuccinos and iced coffees are what it is best known for.
