Café Hagen

Why it’s on the route

Café Hagen was founded in 2019 by Danish-born Maria Beck, who also started the affiliated Hagen Coffee Roasters, sourcing from women-owned farms in Costa Rica and Honduras. The menu is built around light-roast espresso drinks, Danish cinnamon rolls, open-faced toasts and weekend brunch with Danish waffles. Interiors follow a minimalist Scandinavian look of marble counters, leather seating and plenty of window light.
