Street Bean Coffee

Why it’s on the route

Street Bean is a Belltown social-enterprise café that runs paid apprenticeships for young people facing homelessness and other barriers to work. It roasts its own coffee: a roasting room with a viewing window was built inside the café in 2015, with trainees learning roasting, defect sorting and cupping. The café serves espresso drinks with Macrina pastries and is now operated in partnership with the nonprofit New Horizons.
