Why it’s on the route

Farmers Union was opened in 2019 by Joe Harrison, a former head roaster at Portola Coffee Roasters, in a 1928 building in Eugene's Market District. A pink San Franciscan roaster takes up about a third of the 2,500-square-foot café, with green coffee hauled up from the cellar on a vintage freight elevator. Inside are a reclaimed-wood bar, thrifted furniture and a 15-foot communal table.
