Grandma's Coffee House

Why it’s on the route

Grandma's Coffee House in Keokea, upcountry Maui, traces its roots to 1918 and Minnie Franco, who began harvesting wild coffee on Haleakalā's slopes as a teenager. Locally grown Arabica is still roasted on site in a century-old Burpee roaster. The tin-roofed café keeps an old-fashioned feel, with family-recipe baked goods and a rustic lanai built around a coffee tree, about 2,800 feet up.
