Why it’s on the route
Horizon Line Coffee was opened in 2017 by Brad Penna and Nam Ho, two friends who moved to Des Moines from Southern California, and roasts on a 6-kilo North roaster visible from the bar. The roastery leans toward light roasts, served as espresso from a refurbished La Marzocco Linea, batch brew and manual pour-overs, in a bright white room with warm wood accents on Walnut Street.
