Why it’s on the route

The Los Feliz shop on Hillhurst Avenue is where Maru began in 2017; the name comes from a Korean word for mountaintop. Coffee is roasted at the company's Arts District café and served here in a calm, minimalist room of pale wood and white walls, with single-origin pour-overs alongside espresso and signature drinks such as the Cream Top and an espresso tonic with dried orange.
