Why it’s on the route

Woodcat was opened in 2014 by Saadat Awan and his wife Janine on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park, with Saadat building much of the long, open room and its stools from reclaimed wood. It doesn't roast; espresso and filter come from rotating partner roasters such as Flat Track and Wrecking Ball, with guest coffees and beans to take home. A communal table and window bars fill with locals, and there is a short breakfast and lunch menu.
