Mocha Joe's has served coffee at 82 Main Street since 1991, with its own roastery in Brattleboro since 1994. Founders Ellen and Pierre Capy built a long relationship with organic growers in Cameroon, importing tens of thousands of pounds a year; in 2023 they sold the café to Kate Barry and Bruce Hunt while continuing to roast for it and for more than 100 regional stores.
