Worth a detour
Opus Coffee
Gainesville · Innovation District, United States
Why it’s on the route
Opus Coffee was founded in Gainesville in 2002 by brothers Bret and Tim Larson, starting with a shop inside a UF Health hospital, and roasts its own coffee on a 15-kilo Ambex. The Innovation District shop, opened in 2019 as its first outside a hospital, is a modern glass-walled room built around a Slayer espresso machine, with indoor and outdoor seating.
