Why it’s on the route
Subculture Coffee was founded by restaurateur Rodney Mayo and roaster Sean Scott, formerly of Habatat Coffee, who roasted small batches on a Diedrich at the Clematis Street café. The dark, spacious room has a hand-carved wooden bar built by Mayo, black-and-white photos on the walls, and a La Marzocco alongside pour-over brewing.
