Why it’s on the route

The Roosevelt is a nonprofit coffeehouse on Long Street whose profits go to hunger relief, anti-trafficking work and clean-water projects. It began as a multi-roaster shop before its sister company, Roosevelt Coffee Roasters, started roasting at a second location in Franklinton. The high-ceilinged room has big street windows and a bar and tables built from old bowling-alley lanes, with espresso from a Modbar and Hario V60 pour-overs.
