Why it’s on the route

Velo opened in 2009 as one of Chattanooga's specialty coffee pioneers and moved to its current Southside building on East Main Street in 2015. A 15-kilo Joper roaster works in view at the back, and the bar pairs Boneshaker-blend espresso with filter coffee on AeroPress, Chemex and Kalita Wave. Bicycles hang around the shop, and a sheltered garden out front holds about 25 seats.
