Why it’s on the route
AKASA sits on the rim of the Batur caldera at Penelokan, about 1,500 metres up, looking out over Mount Batur and its lake. The coffee comes from the surrounding Kintamani highlands and is served as a Batur Blend pour-over and as single-origin espresso, with V60, siphon and French press on the manual bar. The building steps down the cliff over three levels, from a small roastery by the entrance to open-air decks below.
