Why it’s on the route

Calibre is one of Surabaya's longer-running roaster-cafés, set in a renovated older building on Jalan Walikota Mustajab in Ketabang. The interior by designer Eric Wibowo mixes an industrial, minimal look with recycled wood and hanging plants. Beans are roasted in-house, filter options include V60 and Japanese iced coffee, and the kitchen plays a large part, with pasta, sandwiches and pastries.
