Why it’s on the route
Opened in August 2023 at Graha Family in West Surabaya, this was Expat. Roasters' first shop outside Bali and is the brand's largest, spread over five floors designed by WHAstudio with Sydney's X plus O. The brew bar is at the centre, pouring pour-over alongside espresso and cold brew, with Kintamani honey and natural lots on filter and the Habitat and Jōzō blends on espresso. The beans are roasted at the company's plant in nearby Sidoarjo.
