Why it’s on the route
TAOCA began as a husband-and-wife bean shop and now roasts at its own Washinji Roastery in Nishinomiya on a 15kg Loring hot-air roaster, supplying cafés across Japan. The Okamoto shop, opened in 2017, brews drip coffee on Origami drippers in front of guests, with espresso alongside, and lets you taste each coffee before buying beans. The team competes every year and produced finalists in three national competitions in 2022.
