Why it’s on the route

Coffeeawake is a small shop near Pusan National University run by barista and roaster Kim Ji-yong, which started out as a multi-roaster café and has roasted its own coffee since 2015, also supplying other cafés. There are two house blends, the specialty-forward Awaken and the sweeter, everyday Ordinary, plus seasonal single origins for hand-drip brewing, such as Indonesia Kerinci. It keeps a steady student crowd and has long featured in the Blue Ribbon Survey.
