Why it’s on the route

Hyangmisa is a roastery café in a remodelled old gymnasium on the road from Hwangnidan-gil towards Gyeongju's express bus terminal, with the original 'Gyeongju Gymnasium' sign still on the facade. Filter coffee from its own roasts is the heart of the menu, with tea-like lots such as Best of Congo and Ethiopia's Sky Project, grown at 2,450 metres and processed at Alo station. Inside, light falls through the glass onto a neatly kept bar.
