Ang Ang's Roastery (AAR Coffee Library)

Why it’s on the route

Ang Ang's Roastery was started in Penang in 2018 by twin brothers who came home from the United States, and now runs several cafés across the island and mainland, with roasting and baking done in open kitchens. Its Bukit Mertajam flagship, AAR Coffee Library, is built around a 'library' of dozens of roasts, graded from everyday coffees up to competition varieties. Staff recommend a bean by taste and brew it as filter.
