Worth a detour
Chye Seng Huat Hardware
Jalan Besar, Singapore
Special experience
Why it’s on the route
Chye Seng Huat Hardware is the flagship of PPP Coffee, set in an Art Deco former hardware shop in Jalan Besar with a courtyard in what was once a gated car park. The on-site roastery, running a Probat L-12 and a 23kg Gothot, supplies wholesale accounts and offers guided tours led by the roasters. A 360-degree bar serves espresso and rotating single-origin V60s, and the Annex next door sells brewing gear.
