Why it’s on the route
VWI is the café of Chad Wang, who in 2017 became the first Taiwanese World Brewers Cup champion; the name stands for vapour, water and ice. Pour-over is the core, with each single origin listed by variety, process and flavour notes, and baristas brew in view of the seats, alongside espresso. The minimal space now sits in an East District alley off Zhongxiao East Road and hosts regular coffee talks.
