Why it’s on the route

Buddy Brew was started by Dave and Susan Ward, who began roasting in their South Tampa garage in 2002 and named the company after their golden retriever. The Kennedy Boulevard shop opened in 2010 as a commercial roastery turned café, and the original roaster is still on site. Baristas train for months on methods including pour-over and cold brew, and the company is widely regarded as Tampa's first specialty roaster.
