Why it’s on the route

Càphê Roasters was started in 2018 by Thu Pham and Raymond John with partner Abraham Kwon as Philadelphia's first Vietnamese coffee roaster, and opened its Kensington café on J Street in 2021. Beans from Vietnam and elsewhere in Southeast Asia are roasted in small batches on site, for cà phê sữa made with robusta and drinks like a guava-pineapple espresso tonic, with bánh mì on the food menu.
